1997 Jaguar XJ6 review from North America
"LEMON, but that's just mine I guess"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When we bought the car...
The clock didn't work and the seats could no longer be programmed.
Over the 3 years that I've owned this car...
DVD player has quit working.
The driver's seat quit working and was stuck in the far back position.
The sunroof quit working and stuck in the open position.
Just this weekend the steering wheel column snapped in 2 as it was retracting inward and the wheel is hanging there lifeless.
It's funny, too, because I was joking about the seat breaking and how you can't drive if you can't reach the pedals and that a broken seat is probably the only thing that could keep you from using a perfectly running car.
Well, it turns out that a steering wheel is also useful.
Aesthetically...
The paint is fading on the trunk and roof.
The interior fabric has detached from the center of the ceiling and hangs over the back seat.
General comments?
I had never imagined there were so many ways for a car to break that were not engine related.
As stated in other reviews here, the engine is bullet proof. I know, because the mechanic that charges me $150/hr tells me every other month when I bring in my car to be fixed for some non engine related issue.
