1998 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT review from North America
"Best truck there is"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This truck has had a history before I purchased it used, as a third owner. Original owner had numerous problems that dealers could not address or fix. Lemon Law applied.
It was taken by Chrysler back to the factory and upgraded to a 2000. Second owner had it for one year, and traded it in. I took it for a test drive for about an hour, and when I returned to the dealer, the papers and the loan were already taken care of.
Paid nothing to drive away!
Left manifold cracked just before three years.
Dealer replaced free of charge.
Three years later check engine light was only a hose on the fuel evaporation canister.
Hot rod mechanic fixed for free. Got a tune-up with all the extra touches for 250.00 No worries.
General comments?
Gets up and goes.
More reliable than my old 68 Camper Special! (84-95)
Tires make a big difference in handling.
Cross tread was wiggly.
Five groove Capitol SUV tires are steady and sure.
I will never trade it or sell it. Will buy the new Hemi!
