2005 Subaru Forester 2.5x review from North America
"I do not trust this car or the manufacturer!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 31,000 miles my 2006 Subaru Forester started to skip with a loud roar in the back.
Car shut off and was in the shop for 10 days to replace the ignition coil.
while the car was in the shop the dealer did a 30k service.
3 days after having that fixed the check engine light came on and the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.
At this time I found out that the previous owner had head gaskets blown, cam shaft replaced, and metal in the oil at 28,000 miles.
The check engine light is still on and I am still waiting for the part to come in so the dealer can fix the catalytic converter.
This car also continues to have a distinct burning smell to this day.
General comments?
This car continues to have mechanical problems even though it was sold as a certified used car with a warranty.
I have been given no support from the manufacturer regarding the continued running hot smell, the metal in the oil, or down time with out a vehicle.
