2002 Audi A4 review from North America
"Beautiful car but too many problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The coils have been replaced 4 times.
The coolant tank leaked.
The transmission starting having problems at 50,000 miles. The electronic chip/control for the transmission had to be replaced but it didn't fix the problem. The entire transmission needs to be replaced.
General comments?
The car is great when it works. But it has so many mechanical problems and is so unreliable. Some problems occurred while under warranty so it was great b/c it replaced for free. But since it's been out of warranty, that's when all the major problems (the transmission) with the car came. I've had 2 friends who have had their transmissions completely replaced with less than 30,000 miles. I've had to get the car towed so many times to the dealership that the Audi service guys and the car rental guys located in the dealership recognize me.
There are too many problems with the CVT transmission. Audi needs to own up to it. Don't get an Audi with a CVT transmission!
