1998 Chevrolet Malibu LS Sedan review from North America
"Friends don't let friends buy Malibus!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
RIP Malibu 1998-2008.
Can't even begin to describe the feeling I felt when the Malibu finally blew up! (P.S I was happy).
We've been through 1 transmission, 6 left taillight bulbs,2 taillight boards, 2 head gaskets, fixed the "power" moonroof 2 times, 2 sets of rotors, a couple of fans for the A/C which NEVER made it to levels 1 & 2.
I can't even estimate how many gallons of antifreeze with the devil dexcool... etc, etc.
If you are reading up on Malibus to decide if you should buy one, I promise you a tandem bike will be more reliable and will probably get you to your destination faster.
The last straw for us was the time we were on the highway going 70, and the Malibu shut off all by itself for the THIRD time, and would not start again. Thankfully this time traffic was not bad.
The motor finally blew and for that we are thankful. I paid 1000.00 for the car almost 4 years ago and have put well over 3000.00 fixing it. I can swear that every post of things going wrong with this lemon happened to me to!!! RIP Malibu!
General comments?
* Has made me cry at least 20 times
* Is about as reliable as a weatherman
* Cost me lots of money
* Is something I WILL never buy again in my life
