1993 Honda del Sol VTI-SIR review from Australia and New Zealand
"Best targa top sports car available for the not so bling bling boy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The roof winding mechanism packed up when I brought the car - Honda quoted mt $300 to fix, I spent $40 after a fight with them and got it repaired =) They said it was too hard for me to repair and it only took me ten minutes!
Clutch died at 185k.
Slight wear on drivers seat.
Paint showing some slight fade and going a lighter blue.
General comments?
It's an awesome little car. It's the most economical out of most typical sports cars like the MR2, MX5 and MG.
It has a good power of 170hp (160 for standard as mine is a JDM model)
Will wipe out most competition including the MR2 (aw11,) but the newer turbo model is a little bit faster =)
The handling is superb, although the front wheel drive system makes the cars some what clumsy when changing directions in corners under acceleration.
The roof mechanism is just the awesomest thing in the world! All the girls like it!
Cabin is a bit small, but comfortable.
A pod filter and exhaust for after market mods are recommended, as the stock items are restricting, and the ping of vtec with a new filter is music to my ears.
