1996 Ford Falcon Futura review from Australia and New Zealand
"Quick, reliable, good looking car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Thermostat stuck shut: just removed it altogether.
Headlights yellowed: sanded them back and polished them.
General comments?
I love this car. An old man owned it before me and it had all its service records. The interior was perfect, until the kids got in the car, now it needs a complete re-trim.
I have added extractors, sports exhaust and a cold air intake with K&N filter. I am happy with the performance it has.
I converted it to gas last year, and it is a lot cheaper to run now. It also by-passes the speed limiter.
It's easy to service the engine. The transmission is a little harder, especially adding the fluid to it. But it is a sturdy unit.
My only real gripe is the yellowed headlights which again need fixing up.
But the car always starts and always gets me where I am going in comfort and speed.
