1990 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 review from North America
"It will show you bang for buck... point blank"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Lots of grease on the engine.
Worn carpet.
Broken turn signal arm.
Light crease in the p/s fender.
No radio.
Bad regulators in both doors.
Small dent behind d/s door.
When I bought it, the engine would stall and sputter, but a quick fix took care of that, and it sounds great now.
General comments?
This one is the 3.1 z24 ($300). I had the base model 89 Cavi ($400) about 9 years ago, and it had a 2.0 4 banger.
It wasn't very fast in the top end (85 mph), but it could handle 60 70 degree two lane turns at terrifying speed.
Accurate and smooth.
Small things go wrong, but you can't ask for less. If you don't like this car, you're nuts!
Sleek body straight from the dealer.
Sound... 2 impp comp series 12's pounded the rear view off (gorillaz - Clint Eastwood - yeah) the acoustics are amazing.
All in all, I can't wait to get the more powerful, better handling version on the road.
