2008 Nissan Versa S review from North America
"Good car for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought a new 2008 Nissan Versa S 6-speed manual transmission. Overall the vehicle is a good car.
So far it's only got around 1500 miles, so it's too soon to say how reliable it is.
The engine is weak. The seats are comfortable for a small car, and the interior space is very good. The trunk is roomy too.
The clutch is not that smooth, and the manual requires a lot of shifting to get power out of the engine. The CVT automatic is probably the best bet, not the 4 speed automatic.
I live in the Bronx, NY and the roads are terrible in NYC, but the Versa absorbs bumps well for a small car, and it has a good ride. It is also easy to park when I find a parking space.
I get average about 23 mpg city/highway. My previous vehicle was a Lexus SUV. I loved that truck, but it got bad gas mileage and it got broken in too many times; hopefully nobody steals my Versa.
