1995 Peugeot 405 GTX review from UK and Ireland
"Not worth 20k new. Otherwise the dogs nuts"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Intermittent bulbs fail (Peugeot trait - to keep you on your toes).
Suspension noises no-one else can detect (located as outriggers - common fault).
Appaling dealer servicing - Cliffords.
Auto box - heavy and wears the inside front tyres.
Rear tyre security bolts seized - replaced and kept greased.
Possible head gasket oil leak (possibly done by the dealer to cough up more money?)
Intermittent starting problems - probably the battery although the dealer wants the customer to buy a £250 piece of plastic.
General comments?
The auto box and cruise control are ace for the speed cameras, set and cruise at 40mph etc... annoys other drivers though.
