1972 MG BGT review from North America
"Beautiful car from any angle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing! When properly looked after, these cars tend to take good care of their owners.
General comments?
I am rather fortunate to have inherited a really well maintained original. It has been in my wife's family since 1975.
You can't really give an unbiased opinion on the handling aspects of the car due to the vast improvements we've seen since the early 70's. Overall, I'd say it is a blast to drive.
We are fortunate to have such a wonderful aftermarket supply system for this make. I don't know of any other vehicle that has such a loyal fan-base.
Depending on where you live, finding a really good example could prove to be a challenge. Check all of the obvious (and not so obvious) rust-spots, check the records and then go with your gut instinct. It is best to find a good original than to buy a heap and go to all of the expense to fix it.
