1988 Ford Granada Ghia review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
ABS light flashes. Tacho' rarely works. Graphic display module and several important warning lights no longer work.
Car is VERY unreliable in heavy rain. Blue exhaust smoke on starting up (probably poor valve oil seals). Handbrake self adjuster beginning to seize up. Sun roof drainage tubes prone to blocking up. Fuel tank retaining strap once broke (very dangerous!). Mileage currently 125,000.
General comments?
Basically a good car spoilt by poor electrics and thoughtless design. The front electric window switches are on the driver's door while the rear switches are on the centre console - should all be grouped together on the console (BMW, Merc old Rover). Wiper switching orientation very strange. Open the doors in the wet and you get soaked!
