1985 Alfa Romeo 33 Ti review from Australia and New Zealand
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1. Broken radiator. Replaced twice.
2. Heat gasket needed to be replaced.
3. Dead piston in cylinder. Needed
resuscitation.
4. Broken exhaust.
5. Little rust on the hatch (little!!)
General comments?
Exceeded my expectations and is more reliable that I had expected. I have never owned an Alfa before, but I knew I was getting into a good marriage the day I saw her.
Bit slippery in the wet, but I think that because it's due for a damper and or spring bushes etc change soon.
I LURVE that sound of the engine. Get lots of looks and I love to just hear it. For the hell of it I'm going to put in a sport exhaust because I'm still in love with the exhaust sound on the standard pipe.
Very noisy inside when compared to say a cheapie like the Hyundai Excel, but still I would not trade this for a more modern car for the same value unless it was a newer 33.
The drivers side foot-well is very cramped. The lack of a drivers foot rest is unforgivable.
Very tiring in city driving.
Interior was kept very well by the previous owner. Car was in storage for 7 years and it shows on the inside.
