1989 Honda Accord LXi review from North America
"Well designed, poor manufacturing - lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1. Clutch at 106,000 (compression ring/flywheel broke clean through).
2. Ball-joint failure at 109,000 (front lower left suspension arm, main ball joint) - lucky me... only going 15mph when it happened!
3. Replaced the engine at 135,000 (main bearing bolt broke on cylinder #2 @ approximately 4000rpm, jacked up the whole crank assembly).
General comments?
Car was well taken care of before I got it.. I've taken good care of it - I just got stuck with a lemon... both the clutch problems were related to a defect in the steel, the main bearing bolt on the crank was either defective, or over-torqued.
