1986 Audi Coupe Quattro review from UK and Ireland
"Great car, but too expensive to run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front discs worn out.
Track rod ends worn on both sides.
Rear near-side wheel-bearing.
Exhaust needed replacement.
Rear brake caliper failed an MOT.
Headlights required re-silvering.
General comments?
Big, eye-catching coupe with a feel and look of quality. Not super-fast (no turbo!) but handling is very secure, grip excellent and traction is incredible on any surface.
Gripes were that it was expensive on parts if anything ever went wrong - fortunately the transmission never did - and that despite its solidity the car 'shuddered' at over 70 MPH, and no amount of investigations ever solved the problem.
