1988 Pontiac 6000 S/E review from North America
"An excellent grocery getter and room with a view"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not very much outside normal wear & tear... tires, brakes (rotors too), alternators... hmmmmm, 3 of these, luckily I bought the first with a *lifetime* warranty.
General comments?
For a domestic mid size car, I was quite surprised at the available room.
The ride is a little on the stiff side (it does have the heavy duty suspension).
It has been extremely reliable (starts every morning) and another suprise is the highway fuel mileage (@ 28-31mpgs).
If you need decent transmission and can't afford the best car (a Camry), you would do very well with a 6000. Similar cars are Cutlass Ciera and Buick Century (note the Olds and Buick are for the older crowd, but are essentially the same car).
