1997 Dodge Neon review from North America
"It looks and sounds good, parked with the motor off"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The day before I was to pick up the car they had to replace the thermostat.
A week after I purchased the car, there was a noise in the brakes. They said it was a normal rubbing noise!
One month after I had the car I noticed a fluid leak. The dealer had to replace the head. The dealer said this was common with this (Neon) make.
The factory had shut down for a week and there weren't any heads to be found IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY and it could be up to a month before the factory made new ones and shipped them out.
Head was send to a local machine shop for repair. POOR POWER, not more power, ever since.
I now have 4,000 miles on the car since I purchased it. IT'S IN THE SHOP AGAIN!! It's overheating and when the air conditioner kicks in it almost stalls the motor.
Dealer can't figure out what the overheating problem is. This is the 4th day that they've had this car AGAIN!
I called the dealer today to see if there is any way I can get out from under this 2400 pound lemon.
General comments?
The dealer has been very cooperative, but why not, I have a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty.
I'm getting $100 deductible to death.
