1982 Trabant 601 S review from Romania
"A very reliable, cheap and easy to maintain car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I changed three engines until now. It seems to have a problem with the engine breaking from time to time. However, a second-hand engine is quite cheap in Romania, so it is not a problem to change it every year.
General comments?
The car is very reliable. It always starts and except changing the engines, I haven't had any other problem with it.
The seats are uncomfortable and I wouldn't recommend it for driving out of town. If you drive more than 300 km, you may consider using another car.
The speed is not very high, but enough to use the car in the town limits.
