1991 Renault Clio RT review from Portugal
"A cheap option for low budgets"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New rear axle and front struts, previous owner used the hand brake for U turns.
New disk brakes, the left disk brake was cracked.
The fascia vents are worthless, fragile plastics.
Power windows buttons fail quite often.
A water pipe died, ALL the cooling fluid disappeared in few seconds.
Some dash plastics have poor quality.
Starter lever broke recently.
General comments?
Good comfort.
Quite nice in turns.
Reasonable in performance.
Many gadgets.
It does not rust away easily.
Very good engine and gear box.
However, be aware of neglected Clios, a careless owner makes the difference between a nice french compact and a piece of french garbage.
