1987 Nissan Skyline GXE review from Australia and New Zealand
"Best car of it's type for it's manufacture date. A smooth, powerful, safe ride of real Nissan power"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air Conditioning leaks occasionally, leaves easily fall through the outside vents causing this problem.
Handbrake (insides only) recently needed to be replaced at 14 years old (possibly due to learner driver).
Replaced disk brakes once in 5 years and battery once also.
Fuel gauge slow in registering amount of fuel.
General comments?
Great power in this mighty machine. Way ahead of it's time. Can be extremely fast.
Excellent handling, steering and brakes.
Tested all of these out at a defensive driving course complete with inspection. Skyline came out on top with better brakes than a brand new Commodore with Anti-lock Braking System and the wheels didn't lock at 70 km/h sudden braking in the wet or dry.
Very comfortable for the standard edition.
Good four speaker stereo, considering it's age.
Works well with a gas conversion, although it loses a fair bit of power.
Unfortunately no circle tail lights :( but we're looking to fix that :)
