1967 Volkswagen Beetle 1500 review from North America
"The original Porsche"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought it in California with intentions to drive it back home to Texas. The original case 1600 (rebuilt) ran rather well, but unforseen compression issues required a rebuild.
Transaxle pops out of fourth under initial load occasionally, but to be expected.
Steering is naturally rather loose, but it shall be fixed within a few years.
General comments?
Car handles decently, but the swing axle suspension defies confidence.
A beetle: All weather car.
