1988 Chevrolet Beretta review from North America
"Reliable, inexpensive, sharp looking car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I am the second owner of the car. The previous owner told me the car has been rear-ended, broken into, had the engine rebuilt three times, along with other general maintenance.
I have had to replace the steering column three times in three years.
The water pump has been replaced twice.
The battery has been replaced once (due to the powerful stereo equipment I had running off of it).
The exhaust has been replaced from front to back twice.
The brakes and brake lines have been replaced four times.
The interior is not great and there is major rust starting on the car, but anything is better than a K-Car when you are 21 and want to look cool!
The car has been broken into once since I have had it (the powerful stereo is now replaced with a more powerful one)!
General comments?
Even though the car cost me a fair amount of money, I didn't pay a lot for it and it never broke down on me in the three years I owned it.
The car handles well even though after thirteen years on the road it was starting to lose power up hill and such.
Nice looking sports car that I did up and paid the price by getting it broke into.
Very spacious for a two door car.
I would buy another one tomorrow if I could find the right color! (white)
