1985 Nissan Cherry Spirit GSL review from UK and Ireland
"Absolutely perfect first car or bargain motor"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only thing that has gone wrong on this car has been a loose battery connection which was fixed in about 10 minutes.
There has been a problem with the hydraulic pressure in the tailgate which means the boot lid sometimes won't stay up; this has been the case since I bought the car, but it isn't worth fixing.
General comments?
This car knocks spots off any other banger.
It is much more comfortable than other cars of a comparable size, for example the Ford Escort mk2 or Vauxhall Astra.
Fuel economy is superb, and I often beat 206GTIs, Golf GTIs, etc at traffic lights (naughty I know).
Can't wait to trade it in though... for a 1.5 Cherry Turbo!
