1986 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV GTV6 review from UK and Ireland
"A terrific stylish Italian coupe, but not devoid of flaws"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The passenger seat slips a little under hard acceleration.
Rear suspension bushes needed replacing.
The car needed new rear discs.
Hadn't been serviced when bought for 9K, should be 5K intervals for an old car.
Driver's door seal leaks slightly in a car wash.
Poor gear change.
Driving position could be better.
General comments?
The last rear-wheel drive Alfa coupe. What more do you want me to say?
I've had three 75's and they are technically superior to the GTV6, but they do not look half as sexy.
It's lower geared than a 75 3.0, but the smaller bore hints at a freer revving unit. Superb ratios, terrific sound, handling excellent for the year, but a little low-geared to get maximum enjoyment.
A great driving car, and I'm incredibly lucky - the cigarette lighter, interior lights etc, in fact everything still work on this baby.
