2001 Hyundai Accent GSi review from North America
"The car is peppy and responsive. Definitely a good buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing so far has gone wrong with my car. I got a call back for my "PVC" valve, but it was under warranty.
General comments?
The manual transmission is a hoot, it shifts like a dream. If at all possible don't get the manual, it sucks the life out of this little car.
The independent sport tuned suspension is hard and allows the driver to really feel what is going on below the wheels.
The rack and pinion steering with power assist is great and allows for maximum cornering at high speeds.
The interior is new and fresh, and is roomy once you get in, when looking at the outside of the car it appears to be much smaller.
Wind and road noise do become noticable, but not until around 110/120 km/h.
The brakes could have been a bit better when stopping suddenly from high speeds - it may cause a little panic.
Four wheel discs would have been nice on the "GSi" model.
