1992 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi review from Australia and New Zealand
"A potential hot 4!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The distributor died at about 105,000klms. $800 (inc. labour) to replace.
General comments?
After owning a performance Skyline I was surprised with the power from this little machine. It would easily beat the Skyline and has beat VL Turbo Commodores, V6 Ecotech Commodores, RX7s and the like. Handling is very surprising as well and it actually suffers from oversteer (a bit weird from a front wheel drive car), very mild oversteer though.
The Lancer stock has 86kW.
My Lancer has 2.25" Genie Extractors, 2.25" system all the way through, Genie turbo polished stainless muffler, 4" Genie polished stainless tip, rush 02 air filter and the stereo.
With these mods (I haven't dyno'd it) I'd guess it would be up around 100kW and while only pushing 850kg, this gets the lancer moving!
Top speed 210km/h.
