1992 Mazda 929 review from North America
"Powerful, comfortable and reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Never had a mechanical failure. Only costs involved have been tires, brakes, oil changes, but it will need an exhaust soon.
General comments?
I love this car. It's never let me down. It has a few oddities, most notably a small trunk, no glove box or cup holders. 1992 is when the body style changed, it sorta' looks like a Jag, but also like a Lexus. I think I've been asked about 50 times "What is it?".
The 24 valve V6 pumps out a healthy 200 HP and the transmission includes a "hold" feature which prevents it from up-shifting for those times when you want max power.
Comfortable, reliable and stylish. Nice!
