1979 Chevrolet Blazer K5 review from North America
"Good off-roader"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Battery came loose and started a fire. Although it was my fault for not securing it.
All the wiring was messed up by a previous owner. Not too big of a problem as there are not very many wires on this car.
Interior is in poor condition, but what do you expect in a car this old?
2 barrel carb for 396 just doesn't work. Getting a 502 Ram-jet as a replacement.
Oil pressure gauge was bad.
General comments?
Good 4x4 to play with off-road.
Fairly expensive to run with all its weight and displacement.
Hardy drive-train for street use, but with tires bigger than 35's the front axle is questionable offroad.
Great parts availability.
Cheap parts as well.
