1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 review from North America
"A blast to drive. Watch out for the rain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Plug wires went bad at 65,000. Guess I should have replaced them before that while I tuned up the car, but it is a pain to replace the wires on a Camaro.
Replaced the water pump at 67,000. It started to leak a little from the bearings so I replaced it for $120.
Engine light comes on now and then when I am driving it in 6th gear at 60mph. I believe it has something to do with the modifications on the car, but I am not sure.
Replaced the driver's power window switch.
General comments?
I purchased this car for $10,000. It has been bored out 30 over. The air intake was moved to under the bumper. The clutch was replaced with a Corvette clutch to handle the increased horsepower. The computer chip was replaced to make up for the change in compression.
All in all the car is extremely fast at 360hp. Before the supercharger is added you have to add bracing to the car so you don't twist the frame. If you twist the frame the T-Top and windows will start leaking.
I love driving this car. You just have to watch out if it is wet. The tires will still spin at 70 MPH on the expressway if it is wet.
