2000 Ford Ranger XLT review from North America
"Good for the price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The front seal on my transmission started leaking at 26,000.
I tured the stearing wheel without the motor running and the power steering fluid got air bubbles in it, and made it seem like the front end was shaking.
That is all that has gone wrong with it so far.
General comments?
This truck has plenty of pulling power and take off power.
There is a lot of room behind the seat, but it's hard for three full grown adults to fit in the cab.
You can't haul very much in the bed cause the leaf springs are weak so it will squat pretty bad.
You can tow a pretty good load on a trailer though.
It's a pretty good truck for the price.
But I still wish I had an F-150 with the 5.4L V8.
My dad has a manual transmission in his 2001 Ranger with the same motor, but I think mine has more power than his.
His might have less power than mine because his is an extended cab which makes his truck longer than mine, which means less horsepower gets to the ground, but I thought I'd mention that, it may help someone when buying a Ranger.
