1988 Pontiac Grand Prix LE review from North America
"Great car, but very high maintenance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The paint is peeling.
Both handles have broken off.
Locks on the passenger side, and the trunk cannot be unlocked with the key.
Had to have both the alternator and battery replaced three times in as many months.
Had to replace the fuel pump.
I've had the rear brakes done three times in less than two years.
The calipers have needed replacing.
My breaks have a constant squeaking.
My power steering fluid leaks.
The fuse for the brake lights burns out every few months.
The tachometer is not functioning properly.
General comments?
This car is great to drive on the highway.
It does, however, start rumbling and shaking if stopped at a red light for too long.
It is a very comfortable, roomy car.
The car has a lot of great features, especially for how old it is.
