1986 Cadillac DeVille Fleetwood Upgrade review from North America
"A nice luxury car for $3000"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 85,000 miles the alternator died. A new one was $120.
At 90,000 I lost the clutch and coil of the A/C compressor. $250.
The radiator began leaking. I had it fixed, and it started again. So I had it replaced. $300.
At 100,000 miles the engine started cutting out, but then went away.
General comments?
This car was a GREAT car. I heard many bad things about the 4.1L V8 engine, but it was really a good car. I only had minor problems with the car.
Very luxurious, especially for an 86 Cadillac.
Good power, and I could get 25-27 miles per gallon on the expressway.
I sold the car to my brother-in-law in 2000, and he totalled it 4 months later.
After the accident, the car was bought for $350. A guy in his 20's bought it, and fixed it. It is still on the road today. Still going strong at 120,000 miles.
