1997 Mercury Tracer LS review from North America
"A cute little economy car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There is a knocking sound if you turn the wheel WHILE you're braking. It doesn't happen if you're not braking.
That's it.
General comments?
It's an automatic, which I despise, but I got such a great deal on it that I couldn't turn it down.
It had that incredibly ignorant design with the air conditioner controls built into the stereo, so just yesterday I had a Kenwood CD player installed and I have to say, the factory speakers sound pretty darn good, especially to be FORD speakers.
I mainly bought the car because my other car is a sports car and I needed a four door for my daughter.
