General comments?
When my crap on wheels Corsica went to hell after saving for months and months of working at Mc Donald's, my granparents felt sorry for me and gave me the Old Buick. I almost told them to keep the barge at first, but I needed a car the and there. I'm glad I decided to take it.
It isn't much for power, but Comfort, style and reliability won me over. As far as reliability goes, this car can handle a serious beating and ask for more (this coming from a 17 year old). And gas mileage isn't nearly as bad as I thought. I can get upwards of 23-24 MPG on the highway if I don't drive like a maniac. As far as Style, I'd take this car anyday over a new Buick, or anything new from GM for that matter. As far as comfort, the seats are like 2 cushy lazyboys, and that's an understatement. And options you can't even get on many new luxury cars: Tilt and telescope wheel, memory power drivers seat, a classy looking vinyl top, factory CHROME MAG WHEELS, etc. The interior has held up well over time, something modern cars don't seem to do anymore. It actually has character too, chrome and wood trim with dark blue cloth. What's up with these modern cars and their bland charcoal/graphite/neutral interiors? This car handles suprisingly well for being as huge as it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no Acura NSX, but it's fun to push it past its limits and hear a growling V8 engine and squealing tires.
My friends gave me hell at first for driving an "old peoples car", but they shut up after I raced my best friend and his beat up '81 Monte Carlo. We raced on a lonely stretch of interstate one day. You should have seen the look on his face when I began pulling away, especially after we hit 80 MPH, farther and farther. This car has speed, it just takes a while to get there. I may just keep this car forever!
