1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass SL review from North America
"A huge waste of money and a disappointment"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Two weeks after I bought it the back break calipers went out and that is a very costly repair. Next the digital dashboard cracked. The dash board then bowed up from the sun. Now at 142,000 miles it has to idle 15 minutes before moving or else it will stall every 10 seconds. It also has a massive oil leak that nobody can find. The transmission is almost gone. The Air Conditioning no longer works. At 140,000 miles the water pump is gone. This car has been a money hole for me, I should have never bought it.
General comments?
The 3.1 liter engine has excellent acceleration and has taken out many other cars on the street. The car is also very comfortable. This car would only be a wise choice if you know what your doing under the hood. Many parts on the engine are hard to get to.
