1993 Ford Ranger XL review from North America
"Great bang for my buck. Would buy another in a flash"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator bearings seized at 70,000 and 160,000 km. Was told by dealer that the alternator is exposed to splash back water from the road when it rains.
A jarring ride - not very smooth.
Starting to rust around the wheel wells and tail gate.
General comments?
The steering was too tight when it was new, now the steering is soo loose that I ended up in a ditch after loosing control.
However, this truck is so tough OJ couldnt kill it!!! I've had it in water, on its side, driven it across Canada twice, loaded the box with gravel daily for 1/2 a year, drive it daily on the worst roads ive ever seen, etc. It does takes the abuse and comes back for more.
