1991 Nissan 300ZX Fairlady Z review from Australia and New Zealand
"Dream machine from Japan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing in particular. When I bought the car, I changed the water pump, timing belt, clutch, suspension and all fan belts.
I am now finding that my tail shaft is
getting very wobbly at 80kph.
My oxygen sensors are also playing up, which is telling the enigne control unit to feed the car more fuel, in turn blocking up my catalytic converters. This has reduced the power of the car significantly.
Also I am having a syncro mesh problem between second, third and fourth gears.
General comments?
I bought the car with a custom blue and black interior, with a A$5500.00 stereo system. Two rockford fosgate 12" mounted in the spare tyre well, alpine V12 amplifier and full double din alpine deck.
The car also came with a set of 17" Sparco race series mags.
It handles like a dream, and has plenty of punch off the line and at high revs. I don't regret buying the car at all.
The amount of looks you get is amazing aswel. I have people pull up next to me at the lights and start an in depth conversation about the Fairladys. It always puts a smile on my face.
