1984 Holden Calais VK review from Australia and New Zealand
"Excellent value"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The computer packed up in the first week that I bought it. This cost me about 400 bucks to fix.
The water pump also cracked, but this was only a minor job. It could have been welded, but I bought a replacement.
When I bought it it also had a blown parking lamp and a hole in the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) pipe. These were both very cheap to fix (about $1)
General comments?
The performance of the EFI engine is really good, better than my old V8 Kingswood.
It has heaps of gadgets for a car built in 1984 (power windows/mirrors, cruise control, digital dash, etc).
It can be a bit slippery in the wet, but that's half the fun :)
