1985 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only things that have gone wrong with the car are due to wear and tear and the general age of the car. Everything works ok, the only thing I will say is that the seals on the doors and T-tops have a tendency to leak and are difficult to replace.
General comments?
The standard performance of the car is pretty average. It needs the CAT removing, a tuned performance exhaust, performance air filter & carbs just for starters. Once you make these changes the performance is greatly improved. BHP's of around 300 are easily obtained with these and a few other mods.
The handling on the car is exceptional, taking into account the size & weight.
The body is made out of extremely thick steel so while being very heavy it does not rust so easily.
The parts are much easier to find and cheaper than you might expect from a yank as long as you are prepared to hunt out the little specialist dealers.
The only downside is the cost of running the car - it only does about 20 MPG.
Still, what the hell - it sounds cool!
