1981 Buick Park Avenue review from North America
"Very reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump leaked.
Transmission rebuild at 200 000km.
4 rear gear changed (never made a burnout!)
Rust around windshield.
Ball joints and tie rod end.
General comments?
I love this car! My father bought it from my uncle in 1992, and gave it to me at may 2002, after the engine blew out. Pull out the engine to made rebuild it. Very cheap to repair and very easy to do, if I compare to my 1991 Hyundai Sonata. The only negative point is the fuel economy, but it's not too bad if you consider the weight of the car. Not worst than a SUV.
It need to be repainted, but the rebuilding of the engine made a hold in my money. And there's no rust on the underbody! Not bad for a 21 years old daily driver car used in salt and snow of the Quebec.
I wish to keep it for ever!
