1993 Ford Taurus LX review from North America
"Nice car, but dangerous problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car was maintained as per the service manual. Oil changes were done every 3 months and full synthetic oil was used. At 80,000 km (50,000 miles)
the car started to smoke and run rough and was towed to the local dealership.
The car was another victim of the 3.8 L
head gasket problem and needed a new engine. I have sent Ford of Canada 10 letters by registered mail and have not received any response in writing. The phone call I received was a farce. The girl who called said she had spoken with me before: this is false, I have never spoken to anyone at Ford before.
I feel that Ford just won't take responsibility for their errors.
General comments?
If Ford management can't send a letter explaining why there was no recall on a head gasket or a faulty head problem then, I am going to have to go to a Japanese product for the sake of peace of mind. It is too dangerous to drive a vehicle that can break down on you without any warning. Ford is not responsible. They are cowards.
