1998 Vauxhall Vectra GLS review from UK and Ireland
"Adequate workhorse"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air mass meter died,
engine light repeatedly coming on and cutting power,
engine mount went.
General comments?
Long geared which affect accelaration the 12.5 seconds could have been reduced to about 11 if it was geared better. but its designed for the motorway and does that job OK. not so good on diesel, 40mpg average, got better from a mark 2 golf gti and think of the performance difference. lots of space & not a bad looking estate. never broken down so reliable, but engine management is a problem and has cut the cars power quite a lot which is annoying.
