2000 Audi A4 quattro review from UK and Ireland
"Brilliant all rounder. Difficult to fault"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Small corrosion spot on strip above rear licence plate. Was told this was a common problem on this model due to some sort of metal clip breaching the anti corrosion layer. Had no problem getting it fixed on the audi 10 year anti corrosion warranty.
General comments?
Brilliant. About all the power you could wish for on UK roads, although there is appreciable turbo lag. Future models ought to be bi-turbo. Amazingly refined for a diesel and the V6 sound is very nice when you let rip, not a petrol sound, but finer than a 4pot diesel. Nice faint turbo whistle.
Surprisingly meagre fuel use for the 150bhp and quattro system.
Typical audi build quality, no concerns whatsoever. Back seats a bit small, but no problem for kids.
Quattro grip is also faultless.
