1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe review from North America
"A car for the rest of your life"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought it "junk yard fresh" and got it to start with starting fluid, fresh gas and gas tank. In 1959 Chevrolet used a particularly poor steel, so modern patch panels in the rear quarters are a given. Keeping the floor pans, and fenders well painted and sanding out any hint of rust is a must.
General comments?
Incredibly simply and reliable car. Mechanical parts are a cinch, decorative parts can be expensive from your local "stick it to ya" NOS parts hoarder.
