1999 Chevrolet Silverado LT review from North America
"With some help it's a great truck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The paint on the dash peeled from sun damage. A new dash was needed.
Several recalls including seat belts and brakes.
Driver-side window and door lock electronics replaced twice. The window stuck in the down position and door would not lock.
Alignment off, pulls to the right.
3rd door did not and still does not close properly.
General comments?
It's an excellent truck for the price, and hopefully by now all the kinks are worked out.
Very roomy and comfortable inside.
Pulls heavy loads great, I had no problem hauling a 5,000 lb steel trailer and 3 horses.
Tow-haul mode makes much smoother gear shifting with a load.
I had a 6" suspension lift, 35" tires, and several other customizations done, and I think with that done it is the best looking truck on the road.
