1998 Daewoo Leganza SX review from UK and Ireland

Due to the demise of Daewoo and their closure of my local service centre I was unable / unwilling to travel across the city from Stockport to Rochdale some 30 miles in order to have the first MOT carried out. Therefore, I used a local MOT station for the test, the car failed due to:-

1, Excessive wear of the front tyres due to misalignment of the steering.

2, Headlight aim low on the left-hand side.

3, Inoperative rear fog lights, this was due to water damage of the relay. This relay is not listed within the owner's manual, it can be found on the bulkhead above the driver's foot-well, all it required was cleaning internally with WD40 and re-fitting.

4, White light at the rear indicators, due to flaking of the yellow lacquer on the bulbs, fix new bulbs at £1.95 each.

I recently had to replace the drivers door mirror due to some kind person deciding I no longer required a rear view and removed it with force. This resulted in a not inconsideralble dent in the door skin.

The mirror assemble was supplied by DAEWOO Rochdale within 3 days. One niggle here is that the assemble comes complete and unpainted. If they supplied the unit without the glass fitted it would be possible to change the shell, ie painted and only slightly scratched old unit. I was unwilling to even try to remove the glass in fear of breakage. I have yet some 2 week later been able to obtain the correct paint for the completion of the repair.
