General comments?
I bought this car for $100 dollars. It was sitting out in someones field for a year before I got it. I put some gas down the carb and it started right up. It then came home and I fixed a few things. It was really reliable. I then put it up for the winter and I drove a different car for a while. That car's engine blew up so then I had to drive this one again. That is when the problems started. First the nut on the passengers side holding in the hub to the axle shaft came loose. This stripped the splines. I fixed it for nothing and then it was good for a while. Then the head gasket blew. The engine continued to run good, but it burned up a lot of anti-freeze. So I fixed it. That costed about $70 dollars including all new gaskets and lifters. After that it was pretty much trouble free. I have had to replace the axle shaft on the drivers side now. But this car is used pretty hard. Burn outs and off-roading is something I do quite a bit with this car. I have strenghtened up the axle shafts so they won't break. This car has been jumped and went through many a stream with out any problems. I like the fourwheel drive and the car gets over 30 miles to the gallon so I can't complain about that. Plus the repairs have been pretty cheap and the engine is really simple. The handling is really good. It turns quickly and without any squeeling from the tires. The brakes on this car are really good. They are problibly the best I have seen. Even when the front brake line went out the car still stopped as good as any other car.
