1987 Mitsubishi Magna GLX review from Australia and New Zealand
"A good family car that has had it's time"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New Clutch at about 250,000 km.
Replaced CV Joints at 260,000 km.
New Radiator at about 300,000 km.
Spent $800 on major oil leads at about 320,000 km.
Another new clutch at 330,000 km.
Head gasket blew about 340,000 km.
Repaired major oil leaks about 360,000 km.
Major rust in body - not worth fixing with the mileage.
General comments?
This car I bought off my parents, knowing it's full service history.
I drove this car for as long as possible, as it was smooth, quiet and comfortable, and cruised really well.
The car was regularly serviced and ran reliably, but towards the end the body, suspension and engine showed their mileage, and was time to update my car. The expenses of constant patch up work told me that this car had had it's time. 390,000 km is a pretty good innings.
