1988 Fiat Uno 60s review from UK and Ireland
"High performance, low insurance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Caliper seized at 90000.
Carburettor mixture constantly adjusted.
Rear load sensing valve seized.
Distributor failed and had to be replaced.
Ignition timing adjusted regularly.
General comments?
SERIOUSLY FAST WITH LOW INSURANCE!
ACCELERATION IS AWESOME!
High levels of grip.
Excellent for town driving, but noisy on the motorway.
I found the car very reliable.
It is very cheap to run.
Has loads of interior space with good styling.
I have uprated the engine (pipercross induction kit, uprated weber jets, performance spark plugs, ported inlets),exhaust (rage-4 inch pipe), suspension (Spax and strut brace), modified then bodywork (whie wheels and driving lamps) and fitted a rev counter giving my uno a personal touch, this car does have potential for modifiers.
I would recommend this car as a first car as it meets the fine line between performance and cost of insurance.
