2001 Suzuki Baleno 4WD review from Sweden
"Low cost 4WD car, not 100% reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric gremlins empty the battery, dealer swapped battery. The windscreen
wiper fluid froze last winter, otherwise no problems.
General comments?
Well, my mum needed a 4WD for driving to
our summerhouse during winter. So I suggested the Baleno 4WD (Suzuki is the biggest dealer where I live and the low prize is a big advantage, they sell the dreadful Alto as well and it's the same guys that service Mazda so it felt comfortable). It handles well on slippery icy roads, but the electric gremlins that empty the battery is definitely a problem, you need to drive it everyday to recharge the battery during winter!
Headlights lacks flushing device and wipers so when it gets dirty, you need
to clean it yourself. My advice, only buy the Baleno 4WD if you have a heated garage and be prepared on a bouncy ride (this isn't a Citroen!).
